Hi, I am Xuel. Here are some labels that might help you to get a sense of me:

Bilingual, Immigrant, Neurodivergent, Queer, Meditator, Dancer, Ecospiritual, Ex-software-engineer, Intuitive, Scorpio, Enneagram Type 4, 6/2 Quad Right Manifesting Generator, Shamanic Family Lineage, ISTA-grad, Hoffman Grad, Cat-lover.

My journey started when I was working as a software engineer in San Francisco and finally had the resources to explore what fully excites me. There, I hosted a series of gatherings in my community house living room called "Sad Parties" where people can be held in our messy-ness together. In those rooms full of emotional vulnerability and authenticity, I realized I finally found my element.

Since then I've gone on to be trained as an Internal Family Systems psychotherapist, embark on a multi-year spiritual awakening journey only to arrive at my appreciation for being human, host workshops at places such as Burning Man, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, China, and somehow made a career for myself as a system thinker and synthesizer and a creator of containers for transformation.

All those experiences help me realize that everything is medicine. I am. And we are.

My Story

I was born in Nanjing, China, into a family that survived the kind of historical trauma that nobody wanted to talk about. From the jump, I was the family's emotional processing unit—highly sensitive, deeply receptive, which overtime manifested as chronic illnesses and anxiety. At 17, this free-spirit with big dreams begged my parents to let me move to the U.S. alone. (And they let me. Yes. I'm still shocked.)

My path has been beautifully nonlinear: building a sense of self in a country that wasn't mine, climbing the ladder of engineering at Salesforce only to say it’s not for me and pivot to healing arts, surviving multiple life crises and spiritual emergencies that would make excellent TV drama. And here I am—integrated, alive, sharing from the wild intersection of light and shadow.

I know intimately what it's like to be told you're "too much"—too sensitive, too ambitious, too creative, too weird. I know the particular flavor of hard that comes with being an Asian woman, an immigrant, neurodivergent, carrying a million beautiful ideas while the world keeps asking you to keep quiet and sit down. I know the electric aliveness that comes when you stop shrinking and start exploring all your multifaceted, contradictory, gorgeous selves.

It's possible to be uniquely you. To have fun. To be imperfect. To be "too much" and discover that's actually just right.

I show up for all possibilities of you—with tenderness and with faith that within our pain lies our light, and within our light is our gift for the world.

My Background

I'm a recovering education addict. My clinical training includes a masters from California Institute of Integral Studies and Internal Family Systems trainings, but my biggest teacher has always been the Earth herself.

Everything I do is rooted in Eastern, Shamanic, and Animistic wisdom traditions—frameworks that taught me to trust the organic intelligence of each body and see blessing in every part of being human, even the hard parts.

Here's what I've learned: our pain and confusion live in the body as undigested trauma. Healing happens when we move it—through shaking, dancing, talking, playing, singing. Through connecting with each other and with the earth. Not just thinking our way out, but feeling our way through.

My work weaves together the personal and the planetary. Psychotherapy and coaching are my vehicles for embodying love and wisdom, for serving the earth community by holding space where healing, social change, magic, and the arts all belong in the same room.

More about me

  • Writing is my "prophet work" that channels something larger than myself. I write about how to recognize our differences and pain as initiation, reconnect to a larger story of meaning, and embrace the full scale of who we are on my Substack: Moonbeam and Bone.

  • I have a complicated relationship with technology: I absolutely love the way AI makes our life more convenient and magical, while I am also an evangelist for the value of erotic and somatic intelligence of human bodies.

  • I currently live in between China, California and Southeast Asia. My work reflects this - blending wisdom of Chinese cosmology and the structured work of Internal Family System and Hoffman Process. I've learned to trust the rhythm of being location-independent and led by what wants to emerge (yes, I am a Sagittarius rising).

  • I care deeply about liberation - both for individuals, for all humans, and for the earth collective. Which is why you might find containers led by me a little shamanic: weaving seasonal wisdom, body-based practices, and community magic on topics such as grief, resilience, ancestral healing, relational skills.
